The Town of Gull Lake says residents can continue to expect reliable water service after rehabilitation work confirmed that one of the community's older wells can no longer operate in its current condition.

According to a release from the Town of Gull Lake, recent work on well PW2‑2010 revealed a failure in the carbon steel casing, allowing sediment to fill the well. Following an assessment by Beckie Hydrogeologists, the well was determined to be no longer operational.

While the loss of the older well does not affect current water service, it does leave Gull Lake without a backup water source. The Town's newer well remains fully operational and continues to meet the community's water needs.

Council and administration are now exploring options to restore backup capacity as part of ongoing efforts to maintain a reliable and resilient water system.

The Town says residents will continue to be kept informed as future decisions are made regarding the community's water infrastructure.
