Opening Line
With heavy hearts but deep gratitude for her life, the family of Shelley Jane Bryant announces her unexpected passing on February 25, 2026, at the age of 74.
Shelley was born on November 3, 1951, in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan, the cherished daughter of Russell and Miriam Bryant. She grew up in the Carmichael area, attending school there before riding the bus into Gull Lake High School, where she graduated and formed friendships that lasted a lifetime.
Life & Legacy
Shelley’s working years began with familiar faces and friendly conversations as she waitressed in Tompkins and Gull Lake. She later found her long-term professional home at the Gull Lake Co‑op, where her kindness, reliability, and genuine care for others made her a valued colleague and a steady presence in the community.
Her commitment to community life ran deep. Shelley was an enthusiastic member of the Gull Lake Kinettes and an active part of the Gull Lake Curling Club, where her love of curling was well known. Winters often found her at the rink—cheering, curling, laughing, and sharing in the victories and defeats of friends.
Her passion for sports extended far beyond the curling ice. Shelley was an avid golfer and a devoted fan of many teams and athletes, always ready to celebrate a win or shake her head at a tough loss. She loved the outdoors, especially the time she spent tending her yard and gardens. Cats were her constant companions, and she cared for them with the same warmth she offered everyone else.
Shelley’s legacy is one of generosity, loyalty, and community spirit. She was the kind of person who showed up—ready to help, ready to volunteer, ready to support her neighbors. She treated friends like family and family like treasure. Her presence made Gull Lake a kinder, more connected place.
Family
Shelley is survived by her sister Laurie Lloyd (Daymond); their son Derek Lloyd (Tiffany) and children Ezra, Eric, Ethan, and Elisabeth; and their daughter Lacey Rogers (Mike) and daughter Grace.
She is also survived by her brother Rod Bryant, his daughter Josie, and Josie’s children Tristyn, Addison, Avery, Rowan, and Aurora.
She leaves behind many cousins across Western Canada and the United States, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
Shelley was predeceased by her parents, Russell and Miriam Bryant.
