The Village of Webb, Saskatchewan, has been awarded $20,060 through SGI’s Provincial Traffic Safety Fund to support a new Speed Awareness Project aimed at improving safety on local roads.
This initiative is part of a province‑wide investment in road safety. In the latest funding round, SGI awarded more than $2 million to 78 Saskatchewan communities through the Provincial Traffic Safety Fund. Since 2019, the program has supported nearly 1,000 local initiatives, using revenue from photo‑speed enforcement to enhance safety in communities across the province.
The fund helps municipalities address issues such as speeding, visibility, pedestrian safety, and intersection risk. Projects supported through the program often include radar speed display signs, school‑zone awareness tools, and other speed‑management upgrades designed to slow traffic and increase driver awareness.
For Webb, this grant represents a meaningful investment in rural road safety. With steady local traffic and proximity to Highway 1, speed‑awareness tools can play an important role in protecting residents, visitors, and all road users.
The Village will determine installation details and timelines as the project moves into planning and procurement. More information will be shared with residents as the work progresses.
This funding places Webb among dozens of Saskatchewan communities taking proactive steps to improve traffic safety and create safer streets for everyone.
