On Thursday, November 13, 2025, the Three Points Economic Partnership will host its 2nd Annual Impact Awards in Abbey—a celebration of the businesses, organizations, and community leaders driving growth, innovation, and collaboration across the region.

For communities within the Gull Lake & Rural Regional Alliance, this is more than an event to attend—it’s an opportunity to observe, learn, and imagine what a similar celebration could mean for our own region.

💡 Why It Matters for the Gull Lake & Rural Regional Alliance

Events like the Impact Awards serve as a rallying point for communities. They recognize the businesses, organizations, and individuals who are shaping the local economy and driving positive change. For the Gull Lake & Rural Regional Alliance, creating a similar platform could:

  • Elevate local achievements that often go unrecognized

  • Strengthen community pride and engagement

  • Encourage youth and entrepreneurs to invest in the region

  • Attract attention from across the region and at the provincial level—opening doors to broader recognition, partnerships, and funding opportunities

🌱 Planting the Seeds for Growth

The Gull Lake & Rural Regional Alliance has no shortage of success stories to build on:

  • Securing Strategic Funding—Successfully obtained the Targeted Sector Support Grant to bring in expert presenters for regional planning and development and the federal CanExport Fund to create a professional website with high-quality video and photo content.

  • Building a Unified Regional Brand—Launched a shared website for the RM of Carmichael, RM of Webb, RM of Gull Lake, and the Town of Gull Lake, giving the region a single, strong voice to attract investment, residents, and visitors.

  • Collaborative Services—Continued tradition of shared essential services such as ambulance, fire protection, recreation facilities, and care homes, proving that cooperation is part of the region’s DNA.

  • Clear Growth Pillars—Established “Invest, Relocate, Visit” as guiding priorities to support entrepreneurs, improve housing and amenities, and position Gull Lake as a hub for exploring Southwest Saskatchewan.

These wins show that the Alliance already has the momentum—what’s missing is a signature event to showcase it.

🤝Learning from Three Points Economic Partnership

The leadership shown by the Three Points Economic Partnership in creating and hosting the Impact Awards demonstrates what’s possible when a region steps forward to celebrate its own. The Gull Lake & Rural Regional Alliance can take inspiration from this model and adapt it to reflect its unique strengths, industries, and values.

🚀 The Opportunity Ahead

The Impact Awards are more than a ceremony—they’re a catalyst. The Gull Lake & Rural Regional Alliance may not have an event like this yet, but with vision and community support, it could become a regional leader in celebrating and accelerating local impact.

Let’s not just applaud Three Points—let’s follow their lead.
