Opening Line

With deep love and profound sadness, the family of Gerald Louis “Jerry” LeFaive announces his peaceful passing on Monday, March 09, 2026, in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan, at the age of 84. He left this world surrounded by family, with the music of his favourite artist, Johnny Cash, playing softly at his bedside.

Life & Legacy

Jerry was born on December 27, 1941, in Ingersoll, Ontario, to Gerald LeFaive Sr. and Doris (Foote) LeFaive. He grew up in Ingersoll, attending Princess Elizabeth Public School, Victory Memorial School, and later Ingersoll District Collegiate Institute, forming friendships and memories that stayed with him throughout his life.

On May 19, 1972, Jerry married the love of his life, Lianne Marie Christianson, in a quiet courthouse ceremony in London, Ontario, where the two eloped. Their nearly 54 years of marriage were filled with devotion, laughter, and a shared commitment to family.

Jerry worked for Roanark Construction and was a long‑time member of the Labourers’ International Union of North America in London, Ontario, building a respected career as a carpenter. Known for his steady work ethic and practical skill, he was always willing to help others—building decks, fences, and outdoor furniture for family and friends, often accepting nothing more than a cold beer on a warm day.

A lover of travel and warm weather, Jerry spent nearly two decades wintering in Costa Rica, a place that became his second home. He embraced the open road with enthusiasm, embarking on long road trips that took him from Ontario to Mexico and Costa Rica more than once.

Sports were a constant joy in Jerry’s life. He was a loyal fan of the Montreal Canadiens and the New York Yankees. After moving to Gull Lake, he became a proud season ticket holder for the Swift Current Broncos, cheering loudly and faithfully from the stands.

Jerry was a devoted grandfather who delighted in being the family “Uber driver,” shuttling his grandchildren to school events, practices, and games. He was also the family baker, greeting the kids after school with homemade cookies, cupcakes, and treats that became cherished traditions.

He enjoyed shopping trips to Swift Current and Medicine Hat, always armed with the weekly flyers and an eye for the best deals. His humour, patience, and gentle spirit made him a beloved presence in every room.

Jerry leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family.

Family

Jerry will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Lianne LeFaive; his children Michelle Kirk (Dennis) and Ryan LeFaive; and his treasured grandchildren: Annika, Christian, and Spencer Kirk, and Juliana, Jonathon, and Lilyana LeFaive, all of Gull Lake, Saskatchewan. To them, he was affectionately known as “Doo‑Doo” and “Pop‑Pops,” names that reflected the special bond they shared.

He is also survived by his brother‑in‑law Jack Christianson (Sheila) of London, Ontario; sister‑in‑law Karen Prest of Exeter, Ontario; nieces and nephews Rob Christianson (Rose) of London, Ontario, Ron Christianson (Peter) of Sydney, Australia, Laurie Christianson (Paul) of Ottawa, Ontario, Kim Francis (Dave) of London, Ontario, and Tracy Gizdic (Nik) of London, Ontario; many great‑nieces and nephews; and his cousin LaVonne Hamilton of Long Beach, California.

Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Gerald LeFaive Sr. and Doris LeFaive; his brother Robert LeFaive (RCAF); and his brother‑in‑law Beverly Prest of Exeter, Ontario.
