Council addressed staff reports, financial approvals, correspondence, building permits, and other business before Council at its May 27 meeting. The session included written reports, committee updates, and routine administrative items.

Water Plant Operator D. Vold provided a brief operational update at the start of the meeting. Council approved a Community Event License for the Gull Lake Tourism & EDC function held on June 17 at the Elks Hall, including a 60’ x 60’ beer gardens area on the street in front of the hall. Council also approved up to $1,500 to sponsor the 2026 Market Season, supporting market activities and related expenses. An annual $2,000 regional partnership contribution was approved to continue supporting regional investment and development initiatives. Council confirmed that the June 10 meeting would proceed at 5:00 p.m. instead of the originally scheduled 7:00 p.m.

Minutes from the May 13 meeting were approved.

Financial approvals included cheques #26213–#26249 totaling $44,135.01 and payroll EFTs totaling $22,717.16.

Council received written reports from Economic Development and the Administrator, along with a committee update from the Gull Lake & District Road Ambulance.

Correspondence filed included items from:

  • Saskatchewan Housing Corporation – the provincial agency responsible for housing programs and community housing supports.

  • Safesidewalks Canada – a company specializing in sidewalk safety assessments and trip‑hazard identification.

  • SKS Waste Reduction Council – a provincial organization focused on waste‑reduction initiatives and environmental stewardship.

Under New Business, Council authorized the Administrator to sign the security authorization form required for the upcoming General Ledger conversion. Council also approved opening a dedicated Health Committee Fundraising Account to support donations and fundraising for the X‑Ray Machine digital upgrade project.

Two building permits were approved:

  • A detached garage on Lots 13–14, Block 33, Plan Q2639, subject to the MuniCode Plan Examination Report.

  • A storage building on Block D, Plan 102290419, also subject to MuniCode conditions. Councillor Stevenson declared a conflict of interest for the second permit (family member) and left the meeting for the vote.

Council adjourned at 8:18 p.m.

Council meets twice monthly, with meetings open to the public.
