A night of cars, cinema, and community is coming to Gull Lake as Dead Prairies Productions, the Rogue Cruisers Car Club, and the SWT Lyceum Theatre team up for a special event built around the 1983 horror classic Christine.
Event Details — Saturday, June 13
Car Show: 4:00–6:00 p.m.
BBQ: starts at 5:00 p.m.
Doors Open: 6:00 p.m.
Movie: 6:30 p.m.
Admission: $7
Tickets: at the door or online at lyceumtheatre.ca
Car Show & Community BBQ
The evening begins with a free car show open to all makes and models. The Rogue Cruisers will be hosting the show and encouraging drivers to bring everything from well‑kept classics to the cars that have given them a few “possessed” moments over the years.
A community barbecue starts at 5:00 p.m., with proceeds supporting the theatre.
Christine on the Big Screen
The Lyceum opens its doors at 6:00 p.m., with the film starting at 6:30 p.m.
Bringing Christine to the Lyceum has been a long‑term goal for Dead Prairies Productions. The rights process took several years, and an earlier attempt in 2019 was postponed after the loss of a close friend connected to the theatre. The film also carries personal significance within the founder’s family, making this screening an important milestone.
Supporting a Community Landmark
The SWT Lyceum Theatre continues to be a volunteer‑driven anchor in Gull Lake, with ongoing plans for outdoor improvements and interior upgrades. Events like this help keep the building active, sustainable, and improving year after year.
Visitors from Gull Lake and across the southwest are encouraged to take in the car show, enjoy the barbecue, watch the film, or spend the entire evening supporting the Lyceum.
Cars, community, and a classic movie — all in support of a hometown theatre.
