New Radar Speed Signs Installed on Rutland Avenue
Two new radar speed signs have been placed on Rutland Avenue to help warn motorists of their speed. A sign indicating the speed of southbound vehicles was erected by the Town crew at the intersection of Rutland Avenue and Third Street. Another sign was placed at the intersection of Rutland Avenue and 5th Street to assist northbound traffic. Fire Safety Week Focuses on Cooking Safety
Fire Prevention Week takes place from October 8 to 14. This year's Fire Prevention Week theme is "Cooking safety begins with YOU." Unattended cooking is the most common cause of kitchen fires. While frying, boiling, grilling, or broiling food, it is critical to remain in the kitchen. Cooking safely begins with you. Dutchman Camper Stolen From Tompkins
A white 1997 Dutchman camper with Saskatchewan licence plate 667MNS, a teal horizontal stripe along the sides, and a length of 26 feet was stolen from Tompkins. The theft happened on August 15, 2023, about 6:20 a.m. The suspect truck is a black crew cab short box with a thick chrome accent on the front driver's, and may have a slip tank in the back.. Gull Lake Receives $9,376 for Radar Speed Signs
The SGI Provincial Traffic Safety Fund Grant Program has awarded the town of Gull Lake $9,376. Emella Waiser applied for the grant on the Town's behalf. The purpose of this fund is to encourage and support local, collaborative action that raises traffic safety awareness. Residents in Rutland have long been concerned about speeding along Rurland Avenue (Hwy 37). The grant funds will be used to purchase and install two radar speed display signs on both sides of Rutland Avenue

Break and Enter at Viterra Grain Terminal
On July 29, 2023, the Viterra Grain Terminal in the RM of Gull Lake was victim of a break and enter. A male driving a red Ford F150 with a black hood went to the location, stole gas and cut a lock off of a building.
