The Kiaskus Trail will receive a major upgrade thanks to the COVID-19 Resilience Stream Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program. The COVID-19 Resilience Stream program is funded by the Federal, Provincial, and Municipal Governments. The Town of Gull Lake was one of 55 Saskatchewan Communities to receive funding from the program.
The upgrade to the trail will see a total of 2.1km of paving added to the trail at a cost of $344,000. The Town will receive $137,600 from the Government of Canada, $114,655 from the Government of Saskatchewan, and the town will cover the remaining cost of $91,745.
The paving of the trail will make it more accessible for everyone to enjoy the sites and sounds along Kiaskus Trail. Kiaskus Trail is a 5.1 kilometer lightly trafficked loop trail in Gull Lake, that features a great forest setting and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and walking.
