A new after‑school option is coming for young people in Gull Lake. On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, the Gull Lake Initiative will launch The Junction, a youth drop‑in center created in response to what residents identified as a major community need: a safe, welcoming place for youth to spend time after school.
Community input behind the project
When the Initiative asked residents what would make the biggest difference for families, one message stood out: youth needed a space of their own. The Junction is being launched with support from the Swift Current Center for Youth Initiative, the Town of Gull Lake, and East Side Church of God, bringing together local insight and partners experienced in youth programming.
Hours and location
The Junction will operate every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., beginning March 3, 2026. Youth can enter through the south doors of the Gull Lake Community Hall, where the drop‑in area has been set up and furnished as a comfortable, youth‑friendly space.
What youth can expect
The program is open to all youth ages 10 to 17. Inside, they’ll find:
• Air hockey and foosball
• Board and card games
• Music
• Comfortable seating
• A relaxed, social environment
Supper will also be provided on Thursdays.
Strengthening support for local youth
The Junction gives young people a place to unwind, connect with friends, and feel supported by their community. It also reflects how Gull Lake responds to local needs—by listening, collaborating, and building practical solutions that strengthen the town.
