🌾 Spotlight: Autumn House Independent Living: A Cornerstone of Community

Single-story building with a sign "Autumn House", red brick and gray siding, surrounded by flowers and bushes, under a cloudy sky.

Care. Comfort. Community. Autumn House isn’t just a facility; it’s a cornerstone of Gull Lake’s spirit.

🏡 A Home Rooted in Care

Nestled on the west end of town, Autumn House overlooks the prairie, offering residents peace and perspective. A welcoming courtyard provides a gathering place for families and friends, while the dedicated Autumn House Auxiliary adds seasonal charm by decorating the entrance and courtyard with beautiful floral displays. The Auxiliary also leads fundraising efforts and celebrates residents’ birthdays, ensuring that life at Autumn House is not only supportive but also vibrant and personal.

Inside, residents enjoy a warm, home-like atmosphere filled with engaging activities—from bingo and shuffleboard to live music by local and regional performers, visits from daycare groups, and outings to community events in Gull Lake and beyond. Compassionate, professional staff deliver daily care, guiding these experiences and ensuring every resident feels supported and at home. Photos on Facebook often capture smiles at decorated tables, staff celebrating milestones, or gardens in bloom—everyday moments that make Autumn House thrive.

🕊 Honoring Loved Ones: The Memorial Wall

Autumn House has introduced a heartfelt new initiative: the Memorial Wall. Families and friends can honor loved ones who called Autumn House home, creating a lasting tribute that strengthens the facility for future generations. Proceeds go directly toward essential repairs and improvements, ensuring Autumn House remains welcoming, comfortable, and sustainable.

🌼 Why It Matters

  • Community-owned, not-for-profit: Guided by a volunteer board, Autumn House provides affordable housing for seniors in Gull Lake and the surrounding area.
