Innovation Federal Credit Union is seeking a Small Business Advisor to support local business and agriculture members with clear, timely financial guidance and strong relationship banking. The role focuses on building trusted relationships, managing an assigned portfolio, and helping members make informed financial decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Foster strong relationships with small and medium‑sized business and agriculture members, providing ongoing financial guidance and support.
Manage an assigned portfolio through strong advice and effective use of Credit Union products and services.
Work collaboratively with all staff to meet members’ financial needs — both known and emerging.
Provide and cross‑sell high‑quality financial products and services through proactive contact to increase member wallet share.
Analyze loan applications for data integrity, potential fraud, and creditworthiness.
Utilize digital solutions to create efficiencies, simplify members’ banking needs, and enhance the member experience.
Travel within the region (up to 200 km) as required.
Qualifications
Completion of post‑secondary education in finance, business management, agribusiness, or a related field; or completion of specialized lending courses.
A minimum of four years’ experience in relationship banking, with knowledge and experience in small business lending, credit analysis, and loan underwriting.
Proven business development, attention to detail, sales, and service skills.
Detail‑oriented and risk‑aware, contributing to the safeguarding of company assets and reputation.
Proficient digital literacy, including critical thinking, problem solving, and navigation using digital solutions.
Comfort and experience with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Teams, Viva, Power Automate, Power BI, Copilot).
