Hazlet EDC Opens Applications for Summer Student Positions

Hazlet Economic Development has opened applications for two 8‑week summer student roles, offering young people in the region a chance to build skills, support community programming, and gain hands‑on experience in local development work. The positions begin July 6, with an application deadline of May 1 at 5 p.m.


Two Roles Available


Hazlet EDC will hire two students between the ages of 15 and 35, with hours dependent on grant funding:


  • Full‑Time Position — up to 30 hours per week

  • Part‑Time Position — up to 15 hours per week


Both roles include some required hours during Sports Day Weekend (June 19–21).


What the Work Involves


Students will work under the supervision of the Economic Development Officer, assisting with weekly activities for families, kids, and the wider community. Tasks may include:


  • Recreational programming

  • Cultural activities

  • Community events

  • Fundraising support


The positions are designed to help students develop communication, organization, and leadership skills while working with a range of ages and community groups.
