A steady reminder for anyone applying to local or regional job postings:
Never pay to apply. Legitimate employers do not charge fees for applications, interviews, or training.
Protect your personal information. Only provide SIN, banking details, or copies of ID after you have formally accepted a job and verified the employer.
Use official channels. Apply using the employer’s listed email or website.
Watch for unrealistic promises. Extremely high pay for minimal duties is a common red flag.
Verify the employer. Confirm the business has a physical address, phone number, and online presence consistent with the posting.
Trust your instincts. If something feels off, pause and confirm before proceeding.
