Gull Lake’s finest were rounded up, locked down, and bailed out — all in the name of community pride and to help repair the Carmichael Community Hall. Yesterday, the Elks Hall transformed into a Wild West courtroom as costumed sheriffs, deputies, and judges staged mock arrests for a cause close to home.

From morning until mid‑afternoon, the town came alive with laughter, chili, and a whole lot of “lookin’ the other way.” Spectators cheered as local “varmints”—including a few familiar faces like the town administrator and well‑known community volunteers—were hauled off and held until their bail hit the $100 mark. The judges had a 100% conviction rate, and all the lawbreakers were jailed until they came up with bail.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our wider community, visiting supporters, and dedicated volunteers, the event raised nearly $10,000 to help repair the Carmichael Community Hall. That’s one giant step closer to restoring a space that has long been the heart of community events in Carmichael.
💬 From the Carmichael Community Club:
“A huge thank you to everyone that helped out with our Jail and Bail today! Because of your generous support we raised almost $10,000 towards Raising the Roof one bail at a time! Our varmints played along and we had so much fun! The Carmichael Hall rebuild is one step closer to getting underway!”
