Gull Lake may be small in size, but its community spirit is anything but. As part of the $2.49 million distributed by Lotteries and Gaming Saskatchewan (LGS) in the first quarter of 2025–26, Gull Lake organizations received a combined $2,931.09 to strengthen sports programs, youth activities, and local events.
💙 Investing in Grassroots Groups
From curling rinks to skating clubs, here’s where the money is going in Gull Lake:
Whether it's helping kids hit the ice with confidence or giving local volunteers the tools to organize meaningful events, these grants are playing a quiet but powerful role in building the town's future.
🎯 The Bigger Picture Across Saskatchewan
Across the province, over 1,000 groups benefited from charitable gaming grants this quarter. The funding supports:
Arts, culture, and recreation
Hospital foundations and service clubs
Youth mentorship and educational programming
Minister Jeremy Harrison summed it up: “Proceeds from gaming in Saskatchewan support charitable organizations and activities across the province.”
🧊 Gull Lake’s Curling Culture and More
The Gull Lake Curling Club, recipient of nearly $900 in grants, is just one example of how these funds sustain cherished local institutions. Skating, hockey, and kinette fundraising events all help make community programs inclusive and accessible.
These quarterly grants are calculated by the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA), and are equal to 25 percent of net revenue from licensed charitable gaming—like raffles, bingos and Monte Carlo nights.
