Gull Lake Community Cooperative Shares Early‑2026 Progress Update

The Gull Lake Community Cooperative has entered 2026 with renewed momentum as it works to move its restoration project from planning into the construction phase. The Board of Directors met on January 14 to review fundraising progress, outline outreach goals, and prepare for the year ahead.

Key Updates from the Board

  • $56,018 raised to date. This includes a $20,000 grant from Heritage Saskatchewan, contributing to the cooperative’s capital goals.

  • New Legacy Support level. A recognition tier is being developed for contributors who donate or invest $5,000 or more, offering permanent acknowledgment on the building’s exterior. This recognition will also apply retroactively to previous donors at that level.

  • Next shareholders meeting. The cooperative will host its next meeting on Wednesday, March 18, at 7 p.m. at the Elks Hall, with an online attendance option for those outside the community.

  • Ongoing project work. Board members are engaging with potential developers, local industry leaders, and federal and provincial funding programs as part of the project’s advancement.

  • Continued outreach. Shareholders and supporters are encouraged to help spread the word, as investment opportunities remain open to individuals and businesses.

Economic Development Officer Lindsay Alliban expressed appreciation for the community’s support and invited anyone with questions or ideas to reach out as the project moves forward.
