Gull Lake’s Carter Bleau was selected in the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft on Thursday, going in the sixth round, 123rd overall, to the Regina Pats. His name was the first from southwest Saskatchewan to appear on the draft board this year.

Bleau is coming off a strong season with the Swift Current U15 AA Pure Chem Broncos, where he recorded 11 goals and 11 assists for 22 points in 21 games. He added nine points in 27 games as a first‑year player in 2024–25.

Standing 5'10" and 170 pounds, the defenceman has continued to progress through

Saskatchewan’s development pathway. He recently committed to join the U18 AAA Regina Pat Canadians for the 2026–27 season. His move to the U18 AAA level positions him well as he continues through Saskatchewan’s development pathway.
