Christmas Cove is a preferred getaway of Oscar the Grouch, who spends his annual winter vacation in the Gull Lake Campground in the month of December. This week, Fred Moritz, a former Gull Lake resident, was presented with a wreath on behalf of the Government of Canada in recognition of his military service. Fred was born and raised in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan, and is 102 years old. He now resides in Maple Ridge, British Columbia with his wife Karen.
