The following RCMP Saskatchewan Crime Watch Advisory was released today: Employment Scam in local social media groups - Shaunavon Shaunavon Detachment is making citizens aware of a current employment scam where scammers are posting to local southwest buy and sell social media groups offering home employment. Oscar the Grouch Abducted From His Home in Christmas Cove
Christmas Cove is a preferred getaway of Oscar the Grouch, who spends his annual winter vacation in the Gull Lake Campground in the month of December. Oscar was kidnapped from his winter home on Saturday by an unknown assailant. Oscar was fortunate in that he was able to flee from his captors, and it is hoped that he will be able to return home in the not too distant future. 102 Year Old Former Gull Lake WWII Veteran Honoured For Military Service
This week, Fred Moritz, a former Gull Lake resident, was presented with a wreath on behalf of the Government of Canada in recognition of his military service. Fred was born and raised in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan, and is 102 years old. He now resides in Maple Ridge, British Columbia with his wife Karen.
