The Fall 2021 Chinook Return to School Plan will be shared with families and staff the week of August 23. As local and provincial COVID-19 data have varied over the summer, we feel it is best to finalize plans based on the most current conditions.
In July, the provincial government lifted restrictive measures and public health officials stated that it is safe for schools to resume traditional in-class learning. When classes in Chinook schools begin as planned on September 2nd, we will follow provincial guidelines while continuing to protect the health and safety of students and staff, as schools transition back to pre-pandemic operations.
We are consulting with local public health officials and following their guidance to develop the plan, which will focus on continuing enhanced cleaning, improved ventilation and other general practices previously implemented in schools. We will also be prepared to increase protective measures as necessary to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 and will continue to follow the recommendations by the Government of Saskatchewan and Saskatchewan Health Authority.
