Autumn House: Job Opportunity – Bookkeeper / Administrative & Compliance Support

Autumn House is seeking a dedicated, detail‑oriented individual to join the team as Bookkeeper / Administrative & Compliance Support. This part‑time role supports the financial accuracy, administrative organization, and regulatory compliance of one of Gull Lake’s most important community institutions.
Working closely with the Resident Manager and the Board of Directors, the successful candidate will help ensure Autumn House continues to operate safely, responsibly, and in alignment with provincial standards. The position also participates in the on‑call rotation.
Position Overview
This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting administrative operations, and coordinating compliance‑related documentation for the personal care home. Duties include bookkeeping, scheduling, record‑keeping, and ensuring inspections, licensing requirements, and building systems documentation remain up‑to‑date and well organized.
This position does not replace the authority or responsibilities of licensed professionals, qualified tradespersons, inspectors, regulators, or other authorities having jurisdiction.
Key Duties
Manage daily bookkeeping using QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoices, payments, and collections.
Complete regular account and bank reconciliations.
Conduct account analysis to support budgeting and financial oversight.
Prepare documentation for audits, regulatory filings, and compliance reviews.
Maintain organized records of financial documents, correspondence, government remittances, and compliance materials.
Coordinate scheduling and follow‑up for inspections, licensing, building systems, safety requirements, preventative maintenance, and contractor documentation.
Required Experience & Skills
Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting, office administration, or a related field.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and QBO.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Ability to identify discrepancies and follow through on outstanding tasks.
Hours & Wage
Hours: 8–16 per week
Wage: Based on education and experience
Work Location: In person
Shift: Part‑time with on‑call rotation
