Autumn House Grateful for Generous Donors
The residents and staff would like to take a few moments to recognize some very generous donors as of late! These donations make the facility more sustainable and they cover some of the costs we incur daily, allowing us to invest some of that into our residents and facility! Today we filled the freezer with a FULL beef that the Myers' family raised. Fast Trucking purchased it at the Frontier Days auctions and donated it to our facility. The driver introduced himself only as “Knobby,” said he was heading for Calgary, and offered them a ride. He was fri

What Holds a Small Town Together Isn’t Viral Noise—It's Us
A viral video and a wave of outside commentary can travel far faster than the truth, and this week the Lyceum Theatre found itself at the centre of a story that doesn’t reflect who we are or how we treat one another. In that video, the theatre, its volunteers, and several local residents are spoken about in ways that are unfair, inaccurate, and unworthy of the place we call home. Gull Lake isn’t perfect—no community is—but we are not a town where people are reduced to insults
