Keeping Gull Lake sustainable presents a number of challenges, and if we are to tackle those challenges successfully, we must do it as a collective. Some of the difficulties we have been dealing with for a long time are as follows:

The amount of unoccupied buildings and vacant lots in the downtown.

There is a shortage of commercial/industrial land.

Availability of hotel/motel rooms is limited, and the campsite is ageing.

The town's and neighboring trading area's population is declining.

These difficulties will not resolve themselves and cannot be resolved just by the Town Council or Economic Development Committee. To assist in overcoming these obstacles, a community effort will be required. I would strongly encourage everyone who is interested to these meetings to attend and learn how we can work together to bring our town forward in a positive direction.
