This Months Gull Lake Library News Highlights: Kids Colouring Contest Winners, Pick Up Your Library

January 2021 Library News

Gull Lake Branch Library will be reopening Monday January 4, 2021 after the holiday break.

Our Christmas colouring contest was a big hit with 28 entries from kids of all ages. The winners were Rosanna Entz, Stephen Stahl, and Ryan Stahl.

There are a number of library cards here that need to get back to patrons. Years ago, cards were kept here at the convenience of the patron in case they forgot their card at home. Also, during the beginning of the pandemic when the libraries were closed, patrons called Chinook Headquarters in order to start up an account and have not yet stopped in at the branch to pick up their card. It is handy to have your card with you since it can be used In the entire province of Saskatchewan. We are so lucky to be able to borrow province wide.

Gull Lake library is so grateful to the Gull Lake Recreation Advisory Board Committee once again for accepting our grant proposal. With this grant, we will be able to purchase new chairs for our children's table as well as wipeable vinyl mats for story time. We are hopeful that we can soon host the program again. Another grant we applied for and received was from the CGTW Culture and Recreation Board. This grant is for all operating funds, which pays for power, gas, telephone, and insurance. Thank you so much for your support!

Many thanks to the Gull Lake SCC member, Jody Willman and her son Evan who decorated our outdoor planters for the Christmas season.

Happy new year!

Librarian Carla Orton
