One of the reasons I took over the Gull Lake Events Facebook Page and launched a website was to better promote our community. I'm working on a tourism marketing strategy to help promote our town through Gull Lake Events. While tourism is more prevalent in communities such as Maple Creek, it remains a significant economic driver in our community, particularly during the summer months. According to Tourism Saskatchewan, guests who stay in a community at a motel, hotel, or campground spend an average of $65.00 at other businesses. It was estimated in 2019 that Gull Lake Campground alone would have generated between $90,000 and $150,000 for other businesses.
