I worked as a Primary Care Paramedic for 32 years and also served on the Rolling Hills Health District's board of directors prior to the district's amalgamation with the Saskatchewan Health Authority. If you're unsure where to find reliable information about Covid-19, continue reading.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority is responsible for providing healthcare services to Saskatchewan residents. From my experience on the Rolling Hills Health Board, I know that providing accurate information is a top priority for the SHA. They certainly have the staff and expertise necessary to provide residents with the most up-to-date medical information regarding Covid-19 treatment and vaccinations. When the SHA suspends other health services in order to focus resources on Covid-19 patients, this is a real and not hypothetical situation.
Doctors and nurses at Swift Current Hospital's ICU and Covid wards are acutely aware of the local situation. Without a doubt, I would pay very close attention to what they say. If they tell you that the majority of people in the ICU are unvaccinated Covid-19 patients, they are completely correct. If they are urging people to get vaccinated, you should take them seriously.
We currently have a record number of unvaccinated Covid-19 patients in our ICU's and hospitals in the Province. Talk to your doctor about any concerns about getting a vaccination. If you trust them to care for your health then you can trust the advice they give you regarding Covid-19 vaccinations.
