Provincial Command Takes Over COVID-19 Emergency Management Operations

Updated: Mar 5, 2022

The Saskatchewan government announced today that the Provincial Command has been activated via the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre (PEOC) to lead the emergency management response to COVID-19.

To leverage support and resources when needed, the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency's PEOC has extensive expertise, including extensive experience in coordinating and deploying emergency resources. The PEOC is also able to access and coordinate interagency resources within Saskatchewan through a variety of ministries, agencies, and crowns. Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency President Marlo Pritchard, Saskatchewan Health Authority CEO Scott Livingstone, and Deputy Health Minister Max Hendricks will lead the Provincial Command.

On September 13, the provincial emergency order was declared, and it is anticipated that Provincial Command will be operational throughout the duration of the provincial emergency order.
